Following the documentation at wiki:Trac#CreateanTracaccount:

sudo -i
su - trac -s /bin/bash
export NEWUSER="adam"
htdigest .htpasswd trac $NEWUSER

I then logged in as adam and set his email address and have sent him his password and I have added him to the MediaWiki ticket, see ticket:5#comment:7.

Closing this ticket as resolved.
